Actor Ben Hawkey, who portrays baking enthusiast Hot Pie on the television series Game of Thrones, has transitioned his character’s love of baked goods into a real life career.
Hawkey’s new bakery is known as “You Know Nothing John Dough” and sells Direwolf bread through the London-based delivery service Deliveroo. The Direwolf bread is based on a popular food from the show and is made from whole wheat cornbread with orange zest, best enjoyed with butter.
The bread cost cost £1 (roughly $1.30) per piece but is sold out for the time being. There is hope that Hawkey’s bakery will reopen in the future if his schedule allows.
“Hot Pie’s Direwolf loaves are a favorite for Game of Thrones fans, and people are always asking me for the secret of my recipe,” Hawkey said. “I can’t share that, but Deliveroo customers will have the chance to try them themselves. You don’t even need to take a dangerous walk down the King’s Road to visit, it comes to you.”
While the Direwolf loaves are sold out and not available in the United States, bakers can attempt to make the bread for themselves. For everyone else, they’ll have to satisfy their Game of Thrones fix by catching up on the series, which is currently in its seventh season.
