Pastry chef Stella Parks writes for Serious Eats, and had been previously nominated for a James Beard Foundation journalism award for her writing. Now, the talented chef is putting out her first cookbook, set to be released on August 15 in stores.
BraveTart: Iconic American Desserts will offer “foolproof recipes and a fresh take on the history of American desserts.” Parks looks to bring an award-winning pastry chef’s expertise into kitchens across America.
Parks meticulously prepared these recipes, spending over five years developing them to properly reflect American classics. Even homemade versions of packaged goods from our childhoods, such as Hostess Cupcakes and Fudge Stripes, will be found in this cookbook.
The book will also provide backstories on how some of our classic desserts came to be, such as chocolate chip cookies, ice cream sodas, and toaster pastries.
BraveTart: Iconic American Desserts is now available online.
