The first-ever Pastryland, a bake sale featuring exclusive creations from the innovative minds of the pastry world, will take place during Pastry Plus – a conference dedicated to putting the spotlight on pastry chefs and highlighting the industry and the how the network works together as a force.
Benefitting City Harvest, a nonprofit dedicated to feeding hungry New Yorkers by rescuing excess food that would normally go to waste, the conference “aims to connect the innovative minds of pastry professionals, providing a rare opportunity to meet and network in a positive, constructive environment to talk about the issues facing them individually and in the industry as a whole.”
Pastryland, which takes place Saturday, September 9, 2017, will help to raise money for City Harvest by having influential chefs put together delicious, one-of-a-kind desserts created specifically for this event.
“What we wanted to do was create an event that allowed pastry chefs to taste each other’s food and give back at the same time. City Harvest has always been a great partner and they were excited to work with us on this,” says Jansen Chan, Director of Pastry Operations at the International Culinary Center (ICC) in New York, where the conference will be held.
Chefs of Per Se, The Modern, Del Posto, Patisserie Chanson, and other distinguished eateries will have their works tasted at Pastryland. The event will also feature fun and exciting activities including a life-size wall of piped icing and a chocolate shot ice luge.
Tickets for Pastryland are now available at the ICC’s website.
