In celebration of America’s first coast-to-coast total solar eclipse in nearly 100 years, Krispy Kreme will glaze its donuts in chocolate for the first time ever.
The special donut will be offered on the day of the eclipse – Monday, August 21 – as well as the weekend before during select stores' evening Hot Light hours. That is when the donuts are actually being made and glazed inside the store, signaled by neon red lights.
“Guests who visit participating Krispy Kreme shops can see the chocolate glaze waterfall as the doughnuts are prepared,” the company says in a press release.
Krispy Kreme will not be the only bakery to take advantage of the solar eclipse, as many bakeries nationwide will have special promotions for the big day.
