These breakfast sandwiches were developed in recent years when the shop wanted to come up with a unique offering for its customers. “Everybody has the regular bagels. So we wanted to do a taste that’s very different,” manager Amanda Terlizzi tells Business Insider. “So we went around the store and asked people what their favorite cereal was, and we came up with a whole bunch of ideas and it’s working.”
Cereals are mixed into the bagel dough, then rolled and baked. The bagels are even topped with cereal-flavored cream cheese spreads. Flavors such as Oreo, Fruity Pebbles, Cookie Crisp, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, and Lucky Charms are incredibly popular with customers.
Bagels R Us is also developing savory flavors. It recently started offering a Cheetos bagel, as well as a Doritos-flavored cream cheese.
