Google recently released its beverage trends report which identifies premium water, earthy flavors, and cold brew coffee as the rising trends in the beverage world according to online searches.
Beverages described by the process in which they are made have shown a spike in interest as of late. Cold brew refers to the process in which a beverage is brewed using room-temperature or cold water in order to unlock more flavor. That flavor of coffee is generally less bitter, less acidic, and more chocolatey and sweet.
Additionally, many consumers are taking to YouTube in order to find DIY tutorials on cold brew.
Cold brew has grown across four major markets: Mexico, Spain, United Kingdom, and United States. Searches for the term are must more prominent in the U.S., with Google’s analytics showing a substantial spike between January of 2016 and January of 2017.
With consumers having the potential to alter their true opinions in surveys, online searches can be a more accurate reflection of the trends they follow. Google’s latest report shows that cold brew has staying power for the foreseeable future.
