On Saturday, September 30, Buddy Valastro and Carlo’s Bakery welcomed its newest location with a grand opening at Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota. This latest addition to the Carlo’s Bakery family is also its first in the Midwest.
Carlo’s Bakery is one of the most recognizable brands in baking, with its exposure from TLC’s Cake Boss as well as its now 21 locations throughout the United States. The bakery has grown tremendously since its beginnings as a neighborhood bakery in Hoboken, New Jersey.
“When our father bought Carlo's Bakery in the 1960s, it was his dream to make the bakery a household name and when he passed, it became our dream. Now, we're not quite there just yet but announcing that we're going to open our doors at Mall of America is surreal,” says Buddy Valastro. “My father would be so proud to know his recipes are making their way to the Midwest. I'm definitely bringing the full menu with me. Hoboken is coming to the largest mall in the United States. Go big or go home, baby!”
Mall of America visitors now have the opportunity to experience Carlo’s Bakery’s full menu at the 1,972 square foot location. The bakery’s signature treats, such as cannoli, lobster tails, cupcakes, and custom cakes, will all be available.
The bakery, located in the Mall of America's Culinary on North (Level 3), officially opened on September 30 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, followed by a meet-and-greet with Buddy Valastro and the rest of the Carlo's Bakery family and treats for the attendees.
Mall of America recently celebrated its 25th birthday in August.
"We’re thrilled to give our guests a taste of Buddy’s larger-than-life personality through his custom creations at Carlo’s Bakery," says Carrie Charleston, VP of Leasing at Mall of America. "We continue to look for ways to introduce iconic, beloved brands like Carlo’s Bakery to our guests at Mall of America."
