The Tampa-area bakery is offering prices that harken back to its start in 1912. For customers, that means that they can get 39 cent brownies, 49 cent éclairs, 39 cent coconut macaroons, and 49 cent guava pastries. There will also be specials on deli sandwiches, such as the popular Cuban sandwich.
The 1912 deals will be available Saturday, October 7 and Sunday, October 8. Alessi Bakery is also giving away free anniversary t-shirts, and children can receive a free cookie.
“[The special offer] is something neat to do for the community. It brings back a lot of memories of back in the day when my grandfather was running it,” Phil Alessi, Jr. tells the Tampa Bay Times.
Alessi Bakery has Italian and Cuban influences, reflected in its menu. When Nicolo Alessi arrived in Tampa from Italy over a hundred years ago, he would deliver fresh Italian and Cuban bread on horse and wagon to his customers.
