The new endeavor from Metropolitan Ministries will look to fight hunger in Tampa. All profits from Dough Nation will go to local hunger programs. According to the nonprofit, the idea brings together the trendy dessert concept of raw edible cookie dough and doing good for your community.
Dough Nation will offer plenty of flavors for customers to choose from, including Peanut Butter Fluff, Sugar Cookie, Double Chocolate Oreo, Toasty S’more, and Vegan Coconut Macaroon. The bakery will also serve ice cream, milkshakes, power bars, and congo bars.
The concept serves as a training program for students of the Metropolitan Ministries culinary program. Students of this program are transitioning out of homelessness, and will go on to work at local restaurants and other foodservice establishments.
In the last year, 1,169,826 million meals have been served through Metropolitan Ministries’ hunger programs.
