The shop plans to offer a variety of homemade marshmallows and other baked goods, as well as custom s’mores. Marshmallow flavors like vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, salted caramel, pumpkin spice, and gingerbread will be available to customers.
Hudson Valley Marshmallow Company comes from the ownership behind Manhattan bakery Three Tarts. The bakery is known for its tasty marshmallows, so a marshmallow-themed shop was a natural offshoot.
“We're hoping to open before the end of the year since our marshmallows are so popular during the holidays, but it depends on us getting all our approvals,” says owner Brendan McAlpine, who recently purchased Three Tarts.
Hudson Valley Marshmallow Company plans to generate plenty of buzz through its s’mores. “I've envisioned it as a s'mores bar, so you walk in, make a custom s'more from your choice of chocolate and marshmallows, we torch it right there, and you can take it to-go,” McAlpine says.
