The nation’s largest source for wedding news and inspiration, The Knot, recently shared the results of its 2017 Small Business Study. This survey reached thousands of local wedding professionals and small business owners to reveal more about the impact of the approximately $96 billion wedding industry.
According to bakers surveyed, the average wedding cake requires 13.5 cups of sugar and an average of 26.8 minutes per each decorative sugar flower. Between baking and decorating, the average time spent to create a single wedding cake is 15.4 hours.
For many bakers, that can add up. The average number of weddings serviced per year is 88, in addition to 300 other events each year.
“For twenty years, The Knot has proudly partnered with local venues, designers, wedding planners, florists, bakers and other wedding professionals across the country, connecting them to our couples to pull off their perfect day,” says Paul Bascobert, President of Local, XO Group Inc. (which owns The Knot). “Their creativity, compassion and dedication to their work inspires all of us here at The Knot, as well as our couples, each and every day. We couldn't be more excited to celebrate our local pros and all that they do this Small Business Saturday.”
These local wedding professionals will look to gain plenty of new business on the upcoming Small Business Saturday, which takes place November 25.
