New York City’s Black Seed Bagels has become well-known for its collaborations with local eateries, from its famous “Baogel” to a Stromboli-filled bagel that debuted earlier in December.
The latest bagel hybrid from the bagel shop comes via a partnership with pan-Mediterranean restaurant Celestine in Brooklyn. The Celestine bagel sandwich starts with a rye bagel baked in carob molasses, which is then topped with sautéed mushrooms, mushroom duxelles, pomegranates, persimmon, and hawaij (a Yemeni ground spice) cabbage slaw.
The Celestine is served open-faced and is geared towards the vegetarian crowd as it is meat-less. The $8.50 bagel sandwich will be available at all three of Black Seed Bagels’ NYC locations starting on January 1, 2018, and will last through the entire month.
