Beginning in early 2018, several qualifiers will take place around the United States to select the team that will represent the country in 2019 at the Cake Designers World Championship at the International Federation of Pastry, Gelato, and Chocolate Event 2019 in Milan, Italy.
This international competition is among the most prestigious in the cake world, with thousands in attendance for the event. Held at HostMilano every two years, 16 countries compete for the title of World Champion at the biggest event of this sector on an international level.
At the last event, U.S. representative Bryson Perkins came in second place.
The United States FIPGC Selections Committee will select the U.S. team. The committee is made up of Kristina Rado, executive manager for the international relations, along with FIPGC International Cake Designers of Excellence Team members Kathleen Lange, Bryson Perkins, and Sidney Galpern.
Qualifying competitions will be held at the San Diego Cake Show, SoFlo Cake & Candy Expo in Miami, That Takes the Cake in Austin, Texas, and one more event to be announced in the upcoming months.
From these top four cake designers in the United States, they will then compete for final selection.

- SoFlo Cake & Candy Expo – April 27-29
