“Irish culture has made a widespread impact throughout the United States, and St. Patrick's Day is an exciting, unique holiday that celebrates the rich and vibrant Irish tradition,” says Eric Keshin, president of Great Harvest Bread Co. “We take pride in how our signature bread and pastries are crafted every day, and the fact that our guests have the opportunity to learn about a rich history through our made-from-scratch Irish recipes.”
The St. Patrick's Day-themed bread collection includes Irish Soda Bread, the Gouda and Stout Bread, and the Paddy's Lucky Loaf (filled with apples, pecans and caramel). Great Harvest Bread will feature festive pastries such as the Blarney Scone, made with orange juice, oats, walnuts, and raisins, and named after the famous Blarney Stone in Ireland. It will also serve mint chocolate chip cookies and green shamrock sugar cookies.
Irish-American Rueben sandwiches will be available at participating locations. The sandwich is traditionally made with corned beef, Swiss cheese, and sauerkraut, but it can also be turned into the Rachel Sandwich by substituting turkey for beef.
