To celebrate the occasion, Blue Star gave away free donuts to guests starting at 10 a.m. PST until they ran out.
Blue Star Donuts has experienced tremendous growth since it first opened 2012. The shop’s gourmet donuts have become an obsession for the local community, and that love has spread to new areas such as Beaverton, Oregon and Los Angeles, California.
The shop's signature brioche-style donuts come in a variety of flavors. The famed Cointreau Crème Brulee Donut and the Blueberry Bourbon Basil Donut are two major highlights of the menu. In addition, new items will delight customers. For example, the Fried Chicken Donut is a sweet and savory combination that consists of a glazed donut with spiced honey that is topped with fried chicken pieces and served with a side of hot sauce.
CEO Katie Poppe and her team are ready to bring new flavors to Portland and explore the capabilities of their new facility. “It's kind of a dream come true,” she says.
