Last year in September, Chicago’s XO Marshmallow introduced the Butterbeer Marshmallow in honor of the beloved Harry Potter book and movie series. The gooey marshmallows are made with a homemade butterbeer sauce swirled in and are described as having a flavor of a butterscotch and cream soda hybrid.
This year, in celebration of the upcoming release of the film Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, as well as the start of a new school year for kids across the country, XO Marshmallow has debuted four new marshmallows that each represent a different Hogwarts house.
- Wicked Pickle – Made with fresh dill pickle juice, this savory marshmallow represents the Slytherin house.
- Sriracha Honey – This hot and sweet marshmallow, representing the Gryffindor house, combines the heat of Sriracha with fresh honey.
- Blackberry Brown Butter – This marshmallow, representing Ravenclaw, combines warm and toasty brown butter with blackberry puree for a cozy taste.
- Turmeric Orange – The Hufflepuff-inspired marshmallow combines fresh turmeric (the “sunshine” root) with orange juice for a “sunshine” feel.
All four of the marshmallows will be available throughout September both in-store and online.
