Freed’s scores big in Facebook football promo

Freed’s Bakery in Las Vegas grabbed more than 1,000 “likes” with its latest Facebook promotion prior to the Super Bowl.

Freed’s offered one lucky customer the chance to win a dozen free chocolate dipped strawberry footballs for the big game (“And only $19.95 a dozen if you'd like to order them anyway!”).

Facebook fans of Freed’s were advised to pick a number between 1 and 5,000 and post it. One guess per person was allowed.

The closest guess was selected as the winner at 6 p.m. on Jan. 29, and more than 2,500 customers took their best guess.
