Bakery customers entered the world of Wonderland at The Grove on Jan. 22-23 when Walt Disney Pictures took visitors behind the scenes into making the magical world of the blockbuster movie ALICE IN WONDERLAND in a special interactive experience to be held at the recently opened Wonderland Bakery at The Grove in Los Angeles. Displays of the Mad Hatter's costume, production designs, visual effects and animation, and an opportunity to be photographed in Alice's Wonderland will take visitors down the rabbit hole into the extraordinary world envisioned by director Tim Burton for the multi-award-nominated film ALICE IN WONDERLAND.
Visitors watched how the computer generated imagery and animation was created by the Sony Pictures Imageworks visual effects team led by Academy Award-winner Ken Ralston. The Mad Hatter's costume, worn in the movie by Johnny Depp, was designed by Academy Award-winner Colleen Atwood and will be on display for visitors to see close up. Concept art and designs by Academy Award-winning production designer Rob Stromberg will also be featured. On Saturday only, a special green screen was set up that placed visitors into a scene from ALICE IN WONDERLAND. Cookies, cupcakes and sweet treat samples will help make a delicious and magical event.
Since opening in March 2010, ALICE IN WONDERLAND has become an international sensation, attracting over $1 billion in box office revenue around the world.
