Francesca Pitcher from North Star Cakes in the United Kingdom recently created an Internet stir with an amazingly realistic cake for her daughter's birthday that resembles a Burmese python. She posted photos on her Facebook page and soon the photos began to spread online.
She writes: “I am, honoured, flattered and utterly terrified this morning as the wonderful Duff Goldman from Ace of Cakes tweeted a picture of my snake cake out to his 40,000 followers last night with the word 'AMAZING!!' and a link to my FB page. Who would have thought that the cake I made for my daughter's birthday party would cause such a stir and bring me a little closer to my idol.”
She added that the cake has doubled her Facebook likes in less than a week. As of early August, her Facebook page had 8,794 likes.
Pitcher created a lifelike snake cake for her six-year-old daughter’s birthday party. The 37-year-old fashioned the coiled-up Burmese python cake at the request of her daughter Claudia, who wanted a spooky themed birthday party following a trip to the zoo.
Francesca, who admits to being afraid of snakes, spent three days creating the realistic reptile after studying images of the yellow colored snake online.
