Ingredients

Prep    

  • Pillsbury's Best™ Frozen Puff Pastry Dough Sheet (05123) 12 ounces
  • Egg, large 2 ounces          
  • Water, cool 1 ounce          

Assembly

  • Sliced roast beef, prepared 8 ounces
  • Caramelized onions, prepared 8 ounces
  • Beef base paste 1/4 tsp
  • Swiss cheese, shredded 6 ounces

Directions

Prep

  1. Thaw puff pastry sheet on sprayed, parchment-lined sheet pan, covered, either 15-30 minutes at room temperature or refrigerated overnight.
  2. Whisk 1 egg and 2 Tbsp water in small bowl and brush edges of pastry with egg wash.
  3. Reserve remaining egg wash for Assembly.

Assembly

  1. Leave a 1/4-inch strip open along one long edge and cover remaining pastry evenly with roast beef slices.
  2. Mix caramelized onions and beef base paste together and spread over roast beef.
  3. Add cheese then roll towards open strip into a tight pinwheel.
  4. Brush egg wash over puff pastry dough then slice into 12 pieces.
  5. Place flat side down into generously sprayed muffin tins; brush edges with remaining egg wash.
  6. Bake as directed below until dough is flaky and golden brown; serve warm.

Bake

  • Convection Oven - 350°F for 18-23 minutes (rotate pans baked in convection oven one-half turn after 9 minutes of baking)
  • Standard Oven - 400°F for 26-35 minutes

Tips

To make slicing easier, wrap and freeze whole roll 15-20 minutes or refrigerate overnight.

Garnish with balsamic glaze or horseradish mayonnaise and chopped fresh chives if desired. Note nutrition information may change.
