Panadería Memos is truly a success story that provides inspiration for the local community who enjoy the delicious breads and pastries that are served here every day.
Guillermo “Memo” Carbajal opened this popular Hispanic bakery in October 2020 in Orem, Utah, and already has started a second location in Sandy, Utah.
“All of our clients are very happy,” says Carbajal, who runs the family business with his wife, Jannete, and son, Brian.
Memo is a very experienced baker who worked his way up through the ranks. Originally from Michoacan, Mexico, he came to California in 2001 where he worked in Salinas. There, he worked for three very important bakeries who taught him the intricate skills of being a professional baker.
In 2020, he moved his family to Utah, as he saw the opportunity to start his own bakery.
Today, customers come from miles away to purchase their favorite breads and pastries from Panadería Memos. Specialties like cema de nata delight the senses with its buttery soft texture and thin layer of different cheeses on top.
“We make that every day,” Memo says proudly. They would not want to disappoint any customer.
BakeMark provides the bakery with best products like premium flour, and “the service is great and Fabian (their sale rep from BakeMark) always helps us with new product ideas. He always goes the extra mile for us.”
Quickly their beloved bakery has emerged as a local favorite, and customers drive from as far as two hours away.
“A lot of our customers tell us they buy our products and take it on their trips to Colorado or Chicago.
“Many older people come here and share their personal stories of nostalgia,” the owner shares. “Our products remind them of their childhood in Mexico – the breads and pastries we offer connect them to their past.”
