Bruegger's Bagels kicks off National Egg Month today by highlighting the chain's second-favorite menu item (after fresh-baked New York-style bagels, of course) with an eggs-traordinary happy hour and the return of a special bagel.
Starting May 8 for a limited run, the bagel bakery will bring back its fan-favorite Egg Bagel, voted out of retirement to celebrate the brand's 30th anniversary. Like all of Bruegger's 15-plus varieties, the Egg Bagel is baked fresh all day in each of the chain's more than 300 bakeries.
Guests who prefer their eggs served in one of Bruegger's Bagels' signature egg sandwiches are also in for a treat. Throughout the month of May on its Facebook page, the brand will announce spontaneous happy hour events at participating bakeries, offering its popular egg sandwiches for $1 off the regular price after 2 pm.
"More and more, people are becoming flexible with how they dine, combining lunch and dinner or requesting breakfast at dinnertime," says Bruegger's Bagels Director of Marketing Judy Kadylak. "Our happy hours highlight what we've always offered: breakfast sandwiches any time of the day - or night."
Guests can join in on the fun and get the deal by visiting and "liking" the Bruegger's Bagels Facebook page or following @Brueggers on Twitter.
Along with the Egg Bagel, Bruegger's Bagels guests can choose among 15 or more bagel varieties as the base for their egg sandwiches, including the new Marble Rye Bagel, available beginning May 8. A twist of two traditional bagel flavors, rye and pumpernickel, the bagel will be featured through August.
Bruegger's all-day breakfast menu features classic combinations as well as chef-inspired creations such as the Egg White and Sundried Tomato Sandwich. Guests can always make their own combination from Brueggers' Bagels' wide variety of fresh-baked bagels and selection of cheeses, breakfast meats, salmon and veggies. Egg whites are also available, as are Bruegger's skinny bagels, with one-third the calories.
