As Mimi's Cafe moves forward in its resolve to return the joie de vivre back to the beloved brand, two senior-level leaders have been appointed to manage and lead the team on day-to-day restaurant operations. Effective May 1, Stuart Gee will take over as regional director of operations for the central United States region, and Daniel Boyd will be promoted to senior director of operations services and training.
In his new role, Stuart will be instrumental in building the foundation and infrastructure for Mimi's future growth by establishing cohesive teams, delivering operational excellence and overseeing people and processes in the central region. With Daniel's promotion and the overall emphasis on updating training throughout the company, Mimi's will recreate the training and development department under Daniel's direction.
"As we continue to invest in the people of Mimi's, we are thrilled to have two accomplished leaders with impeccable restaurant operations experience and who wholeheartedly support our vision for Mimi's," said Phil Costner, President of Mimi's Cafe. "Both Stuart and Daniel bring extensive experience and proven track records of accomplishments which will be integral to Mimi's bright future."
With 17 years of success as an executive operations leader, Stuart will oversee all Mimi's Cafe restaurants in the Central region. Prior to joining Mimi's Cafe, Stuart served as vice president of central operations for T.G.I. Fridays where he revamped training methodologies and cut costs by 50%. He also orchestrated a multi-million dollar turnaround at Rumbi Island Grill in Salt Lake City. In addition, he generated record earnings at Mainstreet Restaurant Group.
Prior to the recent promotion, Daniel was the director of operations at Mimi's Cafe overseeing nine restaurants in central California and Los Angeles where he implemented successful training initiatives in his region. With over 23 years of restaurant experience as a strategic planner and leader, Daniel's talents and skills are a valuable asset to Mimi's future growth and development within the restaurants. Before joining Mimi's, he was vice president of operations and development with Shoot The Moon, a franchisee group for Chili's, Romano's Macaroni Grill, On The Border, Sonic and Tony Roma's.
