Emily and Melissa Elsen, the bakers behind Brooklyn’s Four & Twenty Blackbirds bakery, are scheduled to make an appearance in Strand Books’ third floor Rare Book Room (828 Broadway at 12th Street, New York City) from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 5. They’ll participate in an on-stage conversation with Adam Roberts, The Amateur Gourmet food blogger and author of Secrets of the Best Chefs.
The focus of the discussion will be the Elsen’s newly-released cookbook, called The Four & Twenty Blackbirds Pie Book: Uncommon Recipes from the Celebrated Brooklyn Pie Shop. The book lives up to its title, and includes recipes for pies such as green chili chocolate, salted honey, and black currant lemon chiffon.
Attendees will also get to enjoy sweet and savory pie samples from Four & Twenty Blackbirds while they’re there.
