General Mills announces that Dobo’s Delights Bake Shoppe in Piqua, Ohio, and Amanda Swigert, one of the bakery’s customers, are the third-annual grand prize winners of the “Make a Cake Face™” Sweepstakes from Pillsbury Bakers’ Plus®. Each received a $2,500 cash prize through the promotion that asks consumers to share a photo from a special “cake face” moment and name their favorite neighborhood bakery through the Make a Cake Face Facebook page. In addition to the chance to win the grand prize of $2,500, consumers and bakeries were eligible to win monthly prizes of $250 for bakeries and $100 for customers throughout the year.
Pillsbury Bakers’ Plus launched the “Make a Cake Face” promotion in 2010 to give independent retail bakeries a turnkey marketing event that puts their cake center stage for celebrating life’s special moments. Kicking off its fourth year on Sept. 1, the promotion continues to help bakers engage with patrons and build loyalty through Facebook and point-of-sale merchandising tools.

The 2013 grand prize winning bakery, Dobo’s Delight Bake Shoppe, is the only independent, full-service bakery in Piqua. Known for its decorated cakes featuring delicious icing made from scratch, the bakery also specializes in a wide range of Hungarian pastries. According to owner Cindy Dobo, Dobo’s Delights is committed to using high-quality ingredients, which is why she sticks with Pillsbury Bakers’ Plus.
