From Sept. 12-17, 2015, iba, the leading international trade fair for bakery, pastry and snacks, will be back in the Munich, Germany, exhibition halls. Every three years, iba invites the who's who of bakers, pastry chefs, caterers, restaurateurs and of the food trade to an international sectoral highlight.
In 2015, the UIBC was attending for the first time and now it is going to assist as a professional partner at the fair. At the beginning of this year, the UIBC had been merged of the International Union of Bakers (UIB) and the International Union of Confectioners (UIPCG). Today, it represents more than 300,000 businesses and more than 4 million sectoral experts in 45 countries on five continents.
“The new founded UIBC joins the bakers and the confectioners craft worldwide, as widely as no other association. As a new partner of iba, this international trade fair will benefit from the wide global network of UIBC and additionally it will support the international importance as that top event of the craft," says Peter Becker, President of the German Bakers’ Confederation. “With UIBC’s support, especially for German bakers and confectioners, the iba will be a perfect platform to establish promising contacts abroad", Becker added.
The partnership is manifested in the lead participation of UIBC in the international bakers and confectioners competition iba-CUP, which selects the best bakers and pastry chefs worldwide. Therefore, the power struggle of the baking guild will be called iba UIBC-CUP in future.
For the second time, the highly promising prelude of the upcoming iba will be the iba summit, which will be taking place the day before the trade fair opens.
After the premiere in 2012, the congress will be expanded next year. Then, the sectoral giants of the international baking market will meet eminent speakers from various specializations as well as national and international business professionals for an interdisciplinary exchange.
At the heart of the sector, trends and innovations which are going to shape the world of baking within the next three years decisively, will be presented to the professional audience – a must-attend event for sectoral experts and decision makers in the market.
