Senator Mike Morrell, R-Rancho Cucamonga, joined with chambers of commerce from around the 23rd Senate District on November 21 to recognize businesses for their contributions to the economy at the 2014 Top Chamber Business Awards.
“California isn’t always the easiest place to do business,” said Morrell. “That’s why it is all the more important that we have events like the Top Chamber Business Awards to recognize business owners for their success. That they’re chosen by their peers for this honor speaks volumes about their impact on our communities.”
Senator Morrell and the San Bernardino Area Chamber honored Ardent Mills’ San Bernardino Mill. Plant Manager Nelson Selmer shared, “I am humbled to accept the award on behalf of the team members with our mill. This is the second time in four years that our facility has been recognized. We are so privileged to support and nourish the San Bernardino community.”
The Top Chamber Business Awards is an annual collaborative event put on by Senator Morrell and local chambers of commerce to promote the good work of businesses in their respective areas. Each participating chamber nominates up to three businesses to be honored and selects one for recognition as the “Top Chamber Business.” The announcements are revealed the day of the event.
“These businesses all share a commitment to getting our economy up and running again,” said Morrell. “As the Inland Empire keeps growing and builds on its reputation as one of California’s most important regions, their leadership is what will get our neighbors back to work. I want to thank our chambers for selecting such a great group and putting these businesses in the spotlight,” said Morrell.
This year’s event took place at the Orton Center on the University of Redlands campus.
