Les Jardins de la Duchesse, a specialty retail bakery located at 138 Orchard Street on New York City’s Lower East Side, began service in December after a six-month build-out, and promises to “awaken the senses” with its menu.
Les Jardins de la Duchesse is a start-up pastry shop retail establishment, focused on the éclair and located in New York City.
It expects to catch the interest of a regular loyal customer base with its broad variety of sweet and savory éclairs. Les Jardins de la Duchesse has also a variety of hot & cold beverages to enjoy. The company offers a broad range of éclairs, six different flavors for sweet éclairs, and four different ones for savory éclairs – all from high quality raw materials such as high quality chocolate and fresh fruits.
Thomas Cardaccia is the owner of Les Jardins de la Duchesse in New York City. Prior to starting his own business, he earned an MBA in Business Management at the International School of Real Madrid (Spain) and also a Bachelor degree in Engineering Business Management in England. Both provided skills in finance and administration, marketing and management as well as research experience and adaptability to different business areas.
Antoine Pelhate is the pastry chef at Les Jardins de la Duchesse. He started his apprenticeship in France when he was fifteen. He spent almost five years learning the basics of the craft and obtained three different diplomas. In 2009, he went to Switzerland and got the opportunity to work at La Ginabelle, a Luxury four stars hotel. He has been working at a two Michelin stars restaurant in Switzerland for a year.
The shop provides freshly prepared pastry products at all times during business operations. Four to six moderate batches of pastry products are prepared during the day to assure fresh baked goods are always available.
