Icing Images owner Deborah Coughlin was the recipient of the coveted Sweet Life Hall of Fame Award, granted by founders Norman R. Davis and Zane Beg of Norm & Zane The Sweet Life LLC. at the National Capital Area Cake Show in Fairfax, Virginia.
Established in 2008, the Sweet Life Award is granted to a person nominated by members of the cake decorating community for his/her demonstration of encouragement and devotion to the sugar arts through teaching classes, demonstrating at events, sponsoring and promoting events, and contributions to teachers and cake shows.
“Normally the Hall of Fame Award is granted to a cake artist, but Debbie works with so many cake decorators to make classes and education available. Debbie has also done so much for the cake community at numerous events across the country and made every effort to promote cake artists who work with her products,” says Norman Davis, Norm & Zane The Sweet Life LLC.
Davis indicated that Coughlin also qualified for the Service Award, but had been granted the more prestigious Hall of Fame Award as a result of her widespread involvement with a large number of cake decorators.
“I never even fathomed that I would receive such an honorable award. To be honored with such talented people is truly a reflection of the Icing Images family. This family includes first and foremost my family who tolerates and supports all the travel and chaos of living a business. The Icing Images staff is the strength of the company, with the backbone being our customers and decorators. Most of all, however, is to God. He leads and directs this business at every turn. Nothing would be possible without him,” says Deborah Coughlin, Icing Images owner.
Since 1999, Icing Images has had a strong presence in the cake decorating world with its focus being edible printing. Icing Images consistently works to improve existing products such as their edible inks which produce vibrant edible photos.
In 2007 they first introduced an icing sheet that went edge to edge, had a vanilla flavor and much needed flexibility for cake applications, all improvements over the available icing sheets at the time.
In 2011, Icing Images introduced iPrint™, a web based program designed specifically for printing on icing sheets using the internet and a computer, and iDesigns™, a feature offering five hundred (now over sixteen hundred) different images licensed for edible use to print on icing sheets. iDesigns assists cake decorators in printing endless, seamless borders without the concern of infringing on a copy written design.
The following year, Icing Images began offering the Silhouette Cameo and introduced colored icing sheets and icing sheets with luster, expanding the possibilities of creativity in the edible paper art field.
In 2013, Icing Images joined forces with Spellbinders® Paper Arts creating the first food-safe die cutting and embossing system, the Sweet Accents™. This was the start of the Edible Paper Art movement. Using edible paper, edible printing and food safe dies, cake decorators could create amazing works of edible art.
Last year, Icing Images introduced DECOgel™, a revolutionary new gelatin-based product that allowed people to quickly and easily create edible gems. Although similar in appearance to Isomalt, DECOgel heats at low temperatures, melts and is used in molds to create gems, designs and much more.
This year, Icing Images officially introduced an innovative new wafer paper product. Previously wafer paper was not pleasant tasting and only came in white. The new Premium Wafer Paper is available in colors and bears a slight vanilla flavor.
In addition to quality products, Icing Images prides itself on the service and support of its products. With numerous high level decorators, Icing Images’ knowledge base is strong and vast.
Icing Images has been a leading distributor of edible photo and edible paper art supplies for over a decade, offering edible ink printers, edible ink, icing sheets, electronic and manual die cutters, Premium Wafer Paper and DECOgel™ to retail bakeries, home bakers and cake decorators.
