Port of Subs restaurants in Southern Nevada are giving the clients at Opportunity Village some delicious reasons to smile.
From Monday, June 8 through Saturday, June 13, each of the 40 Southern Nevada Port of Subs restaurants will donate a small sandwich to Opportunity Village for every large sandwich sold. It's estimated that several thousand sandwiches will be donated to the non-profit, which assists nearly 3,000 severely intellectually disabled people within the community each year.
"We have a wonderful group of franchisees. They care about this community, and are always looking for ways to give back," said Issac Jacobson, Port of Subs' regional marketing manager. "We've done several projects with Opportunity Village over the past ten years, and we completely support the programs and services they provide."
Customers buy a large sandwich, and Opportunity Village gets a small sandwich added to the final tally, which will be released June 15.
"Our customers are getting creative with it," said Jacobson. "Some are already planning office lunches next week, telling us they'll buy six large subs instead of twelve small ones, so Opportunity Village benefits. The more, the better."
Port of Subs is a regional sandwich franchise headquartered in Reno, Nevada, and currently operates over 140 stores throughout the western United States. Port of Subs offers both hot and cold deli sandwiches, along with a variety of side items and an extended array of catering options.
