Archer Daniels Midland Company has announced the latest addition to the company’s expansive specialty proteins portfolio, as well as its intention to offer pea protein isolates and concentrates in the future.
The new addition is SUPERB, a functional ingredient containing protein and fiber. Made from soybeans, SUPERB provides food manufacturers with an effective way to enhance water-binding, improve the texture of meat products and meat substitutes, and boost protein and fiber content.
In addition, ADM is evaluating options for offering pea protein isolates and concentrates in response to growing demand for versatile, functional proteins that can be easily incorporated into a wide range of products, from energy bars to beverages.
“Our customers are seeking innovative ways to add high-quality protein and fiber to their products, and ADM is responding with one of the industry’s broadest and deepest protein and fiber portfolios,” said Bruce Bennett, president, ADM Specialty Ingredients.
“SUPERB and pea protein both offer exceptional utility for customers intent on meeting growing demand and gaining a real competitive advantage in the consumer marketplace,” he added.
ADM’s current specialty protein offerings include soy protein isolates, concentrates, textured proteins and crisps, and soy flour and grits. The company’s other offerings include its line of edible bean powders and Fibersol soluble dietary fibers.
