Purple Day Every Day connects people with epilepsy awareness initiatives and events all year round. Getting involved is easy with a variety of initiatives to take part in, like The Great Purple Cupcake Project.
Bakery owners and all others can become involved in this project very easily:
Interested bakeries can email Ann Marie Bezuyen of The Anita Kaufmann Foundation at annmarie@akfus.org to let her know how they would like to participate.
The project will provide each bakery with information about Purple Day, signage for their bakery, official Purple Day buttons, seizure first aid bookmarks to be handed out with each cupcake order, and a press release template that they can customize with their own personal message.
Adding their participation to their blog, Facebook Page, Pinterest boards, or tweeting about it will help to spread the word.
Bakers simply design and bake their own signature Purple Day cupcakes with a purple element of some kind, or add a purple confection to a customer favorite.
The cupcakes are to be sold between March 6 and March 13, 2016, and the goal is for 10% of cupcake sales to be donated to AKF in order for the project to continue educating the public about epilepsy.
All shops, websites and cupcake creation photos will appear on a dedicated page on both www.purpledayeveryday.org and www.akfus.org.
This cupcake project has been very successful in not only creating epilepsy awareness, but in creating lasting community partnerships between patrons and bake shops across the US and around the globe.
