After a wonderful life, Thomas Michael Joseph Patrick Traynor passed away peacefully on January 29, 2016, with his wife Judy by his side and with the love of their family and friends surrounding the two of them.
Mike was born in Hamilton, Ontario to Julia and Paul Traynor on July 30, 1959. He graduated from Cathedral Boys' High School in 1977. He went on to earn his Bachelor of Computer Science from the University of Western Ontario in 1980, and then his Master of Business Administration from Wilfred Laurier University in 1994. He joined the family business, Traynor's Bakery Wholesale in 1980. Ten years later, he became the third generation owner/manager with his brother John. He was a hard-working boss who was admired. He was a businessman of great integrity.
Mike was a gentle, honest, courageous soul. He very quietly helped many people along the way in life. He had the greatest sense of humor, both clever and outrageous. He felt privileged to have explored many parts of the world with Judy. He was an avid runner and triathlete, completing many marathons and Ironman events. He was happy to be a member of the Hamilton Harriers Running Club and made many lifelong friendships there. He touched many lives and will be greatly missed through his community.
Mike's funeral service will be held at St. John's Anglican Church in Ancaster on February 12 at 1 p.m. Visitation at Dodsworth and Brown Funeral Home, 378 Wilson Street East, Ancaster on February 11 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. Interment will occur at a later date in Lake of the Woods Cemetery, Kenora, Ontario.
