Piccione Pastry, St. Louis’ local Italian pastry shop, will celebrate Valentine’s Day with a variety of swoon-worthy sweets. Special edition treats, available the entire month of February, include chocolate covered strawberry cassata cake, pink tri-color cookies, heart-shaped gooey butter bars, four new flavors of cannoli and 1½ pounds of authentic Italian cookies for $12.50.
On Sunday, February 14, the bakery will host a special Champagne and Bloody Mary Brunch.
“Valentine’s Day is an opportunity to spread joy to one another,” said Sandia Hoormann, Piccione’s pastry chef. “We want to spread love with tasty treats and awesome, affordable gifts. And, it’s effortless to display, share and deliver these treats with our themed Cookie Box.”
The festive Cookie Box boasts 1½ pounds of authentic Italian cookies for $12.50.
Available through February 28, guests can try chocolate covered strawberry cassata cake, pink tri-colored cookies, heart-shaped gooey butter bars and four flavors of cannoli.
The chocolate covered strawberry cassata cake is a vanilla sponge cake, filled with Piccione cream and fresh strawberries, topped with Piccione cream. The cake is then covered in chocolate ganache and topped with a chocolate covered strawberry.
Piccione’s weekly “crazy cannoli” flavors include chocolate covered cherry (February 2-7), raspberry red velvet (February 9-14), burning love/red hots (February 16-21), and Girl Scout Cookie (February 23-28) to honor Piccione’s participation in Dessert First, an annual event where local chefs turn Girl Scout Cookies into delectable desserts.
