Classic recipes like chocolate chip cookies are proof that sometimes, simpler really is better — especially during the busy holiday season. That’s also the message behind Lucky Leaf’s “Simple Holiday Treats” contest, which challenges fans of baked treats to submit their best — and simplest — holiday recipes.

“Good recipes don’t have to be complicated,” said Lucky Leaf vice president of marketing Bob Fisher. “Some of the best recipes handed down through the generations have only a handful of ingredients and are easy enough that even the kids can help out while making them. That’s the inspiration for this year’s recipe contest.”

The Simple Holiday Treats contest submission period begins November 1, 2016 and ends November 19, 2016. Ten finalists will each receive a $250 Amazon holiday e-card and will face off for votes on Facebook between November 28-December 10. Taking fan votes into consideration, Lucky Leaf judges will then select a grand prize winner, who will receive $5,000 and will have his or her recipe turned into a video shot at the Lucky Leaf kitchen studio. A Facebook sweepstakes will also reward Lucky Leaf fans with a weekly $50 gift card prize.

To help promote the recipe contest, Lucky Leaf has partnered with three influential bakers-turned-bloggers. Each will prepare a simple recipe that will be turned into a video to help promote the contest. The blogger partners include Inside Bru Crew Life (www.insidebrucrewlife.com), Lemon Tree Dwelling (www.lemontreedwelling.com), and Mommy’s Kitchen (www.mommyskitchen.net).

Lucky Leaf Fruit Filling and Topping is available in nearly 30 varieties, including traditional fillings like cherry, apple and blueberry, and inspiring options like pineapple, raisin and strawberry rhubarb.
