The national fast food chain Wendy’s has begun testing new items such as a croissant bun paired with a truffle aioli as well as truffle parmesan cheese sauce.
According to Brand Eating, they were spotted in the Massachusetts and New Hampshire markets. The two ingredients can be found in the new Truffle Bacon Cheeseburger, and the truffle sauce can also be used on fries.
The burger comes at a relatively modest price, at only $4.99. Unfortunately, as Eataly founder and noted “MasterChef” judge Joe Bastianich points out, the truffle oil isn’t what it seems. “It’s made by perfume. It’s garbage olive oil with perfume added to it. And it’s very difficult to digest. It’s bad for you. It’s bad for New Yorkers. It’s bad for the American people. So, stop it,” he says.
Wendy’s also tested out a Bacon Maple Chicken Sandwich as far back as August in Washington.
