Thousands will descend on Los Angeles in early 2017 in order to warm up their winter and celebrate some favorite treats.
LA Cookie Con is set for February 18 and 19 at the Los Angeles Convention Center, where a sold out crowd will be joined by baking world celebrities to witness some truly incredible showcases and exhibits.
The annual event continues to expand, and this year promises to be its biggest by far with new events such as a Decorators’ Showcase and contests to benefit Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Los Angeles.
The Decorators’ Showcase will have four categories for submissions: World Dessert Table Championships (the theme is Sci-Fi), Superhero, Wedding, and Bizarre. You may submit any edible sugar art to these categories and each competitor will have a 2’ area for their display and a sign with their name/business name and social media profiles. The general public will cast votes for their favorite works on Facebook.
The charitable showcase will focus on supporting Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Los Angeles and celebrating edible art — so beginners through professionals are welcome, as are team entries. Amateurs’ and professionals’ work will be grouped together as appropriate.
Celebrities attending the 2017 event include celebrity chef and TV personality Duff Goldman, founder of MyCupcakeAddiction Elise Strachan, creator and host of the Internet’s most popular baking show, Nerdy Nummies, Rosanna Pansino, and Batman (TV series) actor Burt Ward.
Tickets for this two-day extravaganza are on sale now.
