Angelic Bakehouse, a leading producer of fresh sprouted grain breads, will introduce a new pizza crust and its plans for national distribution at the upcoming Natural Products East tradeshow. The tradeshow, held Sept. 26-28 in Baltimore, Md., will allow the Wisconsin bakehouse to increase new product and brand awareness among consumers, retailers, distributors and food service providers.

Angelic Bakehouse, formally known as Cybros, The Sprouted Bakehouse, was purchased four years ago by the Marino family and has since quadrupled in size. The Wickedly Wholesome, Divinely Delicious™ products are a reflection of the family’s personal desires and lifestyle.

“The new pizza crust was developed for somewhat selfish reasons,” said Jenny Marino, president of Angelic Bakehouse. “We truly believe in eating natural whole-grain products and we wanted a new and interesting way to dish it up to our friends and family; what’s better than pizza?”

All of Angelic’s products are made with non-genetically modified whole-sprouted grains, natural sunflower oil and locally sourced domestic honey, and the pizza crust will be no different. With a food industry that is moving in a more health-conscious direction, Angelic offers whole-sprouted grains in their purest form; however, unlike many whole-grain producers, Angelic refuses to settle for a bland taste.

“We understand how hard it is to get children to enjoy whole-grain alternatives; it’s a struggle we face daily. That’s why we made sure our products are not only nutritionally superior, but they taste great too,” said Marino. “We are producing specialized products such as pizza crusts, dough, French baguettes, breads and rolls that enhance not only the nutrition of meals, but also the quality.”

In addition to providing consumers with alternative whole-sprouted grain options, the pizza crust enables Angelic to enter a new market space and expand outside of the flooded bread aisle.

“Our goal is to introduce consumers to a variety of specialty whole-sprouted grain breads,” said James Marino, executive vice president of Angelic Bakehouse. “The upcoming tradeshow gives us the opportunity to launch not only the new crust, but all of our products at a national level.”

The company currently sells products at leading organic food retailer, Whole Foods Market®, in its Midwest and Northeast regions and is looking to expand nationally from contacts made at the tradeshow. To increase production resources, Angelic will be expanding into a 22,000-square-foot facility in Cudahy, Wis. later this year.
