Panera Bread is hosting the Pink Ribbon Bagel campaign in an effort to support those who have fought breast cancer and to increase the visibility of Breast Cancer Awareness month.
Additionally, Panera Bread will donate 10 cents of each Pink Ribbon Bagel sold from Oct. 2 through Oct. 31 to the American Cancer Society. Last year's sales of the Pink Ribbon Bagel resulted in a donation of more than $23,000.
Panera Bread bakery-cafes in Columbus, Dayton and Cincinnati are dedicated to the heightened Oct. 1 fundraising promise and to its month-long commitment of supporting the fight against breast cancer.
"This year, more than ever before, we are pleased and honored to lead the charge against breast cancer in Ohio," says Jeff Rains, President, Breads of the World, LLC. "On Oct. 1 Panera Bread will donate 100% of all Pink Ribbon bagel sales. It's important to us to kick Breast Cancer Awareness month off on the right foot, by bringing together our employees, owners and customers as a united front -- supporting the cause in the Ohio communities we serve."
The Pink Ribbon Bagel is baked in the form of an awareness ribbon and is loaded with cherry chips and real bits of Bing cherries and cranberries. All central and southwest Ohio bakery-cafes are participating; visit Panera-Ohio.com for a list of locations.
